Other names: बदाम (marathi),बादाम (hindi).
Almonds are well known ingredient of all kitchen's.Almonds mostly used in sweet desserts.used as toping.people can eat Almonds raw or roasted as snack.
In market there are various products of almond's are available like sliced flaked almond's,salty almond's,peper or masala Almonds,As flour,Almond oil,butter,and Almond milk.
Almond is a drupe. In biological term Almond is not Nut it is seed.Almond fruit of an outer hard shell with the seed,which is true nut.
Dry Almond's are brown in colour.
Almond's trees reach full bearing five to seven years after planting.Almond fruit is 3.5- 5 cm long.
There are 30 varieties of Almond's.Many almond tress are not self pollinating and depends on bees to carry pollen to one another.
Almond is native to Iran and its surrounding's
The pollination of California's Almonds is the largest Annual managed pollination event in the world.

Almond oil contain 32%monounsaturated oleic Acid(omega -9 fatty acid),13% linoleic acid(polyunsaturated omega-6 essential fatty acid)&10%of saturated fatty acid.
