Coriander Scientific name: coriandrum sativum Family:Apiaceae Local names: धणे( marathi), धनीया ( hindi). Coriander is is Annual plant.It is also know as Chinese parsley or cilantro.coriander is native to southern Europe and Northern Africa to southwestern Asia. Coriander is mostly fresh leaves and dried seeds are used for cooking purposes. Coriander plant is soft plant .leaves are green and seeds are yellowish Brown in colour.all parts of plants are edible but mostly fresh leaves and seeds are used. Chemical constituents: It cantains 4% of carbohydrates,protein 2%,fat 1% and water 92% .
